Please join us and our friends at the Grand Stafford Theater for a screening of The Man Who Mends Women. This impactful film shares the story of Dr. Denis Mukwege, winner of the Sakharov Prize and three-time nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize, who is internationally known as the man who treats thousands of women who have been raped during the 20 years of conflicts in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Come learn about the challenges facing women in the DRC and the physician working to bring peace and safety to the region.
After the screening, we will host two panelists from the Panzi Foundation DRC–Naama Haviv and one of the physicians–to provide greater context to the film. Dr. Mukwege’s son will also attend the screening. Dr. Mukwege’s son will also attend.
For anyone interested in human rights, public health, and development, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
