Join us April 20th to watch “KOMBIT,” a documentary film chronicling a five-year project to reforest Haiti.
DATE: April 20th
TIME: Doors open at 7pm, Film starts at 7:30pm
After the film, Timberland’s Director of Strategic Partnerships & Business Development will join us for a Q&A session via Skype!
In 2010, Timberland made a Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) commitment to plant five million trees in five years in Haiti, aimed at reversing the country’s dangerous decline in tree populations. That initiative evolved into a large-scale, self-sustaining agroforestry program owned and operated by smallholder farmers, creating lasting value well beyond the trees themselves. This project represents a public-private partnership model of development that helped Haiti recover from the scourge of conflict and natural disaster.
“KOMBIT: The Cooperative” documents the story of Timberland’s journey, and in partnership with Film Sprout, is being screened with local nonprofits, universities and other partners in more than 250 communities across the United States. To learn more about the film, visit KombitFilm.com.
