Thematic Focus 

Under the theme of the refugee crisis, Gordon Ogutu photographed social cohesion related activities. He created a series of blogs about his experience in Turkana, Kenya. Through this series of blogs, he hopes to expose the realities of refugees and host communities in Kakuma refugee camps, Kalobeyei Settlement, and the nearby towns.

This blog is about Gordon Ogutu's field work experience in Turkan, Kenya. It is part of an ethnographic field study conducted in Kakuma, Kenya from May 2023 to July 2023, and describes how social cohesion manifests among communities in a displacement context in the global south.
