Graham Savio is a Program Coordinator with the Center on Conflict and Development at Texas A&M University. Based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Graham works on project planning, development and implementation.
Graham graduated from UC Davis in 2013 with an M.S. in Agricultural and Resource Economics and an M.S. in International Agricultural Development. His coursework and research focused on smallholder production and international agricultural trade, and he is interested in the role of agroforestry, agroecology and producer certification schemes in agricultural production systems. He spent the summer of 2012 doing independent research facilitating needs assessments among smallholder producers of cocoa in eastern DRC. Prior to his graduate studies, Graham worked in Uganda and DRC with a fair trade cocoa and vanilla company and worked as a high school teacher in Tanzania, and he spent many years working as a farmer and an educator in New York, Italy and California. He graduated from Colgate University in 2005 with a B.A. in Mathematics and Classical Studies.
