How Do I Apply?

The first step is to indicate your interest and intent to Paul Schwab (pschwab@tamu.edu) and John Kaboggoza (john.kaboggoza@uganda-emos.com) to allow us to track your progress. Next, decide whether your intention is to apply to Engineering or Agriculture and Life Sciences and follow the required steps.

Tips for Navigating the Online Application Process

Here are some helpful comments from applicants who completed the process successfully:

  1. You will need a strong internet signal. The website has many pages to be completed.
  2. The Apply Texas website can be a little difficult at first, but be persistent.
  3. Follow the instructions carefully, and accurately provide all requested information.
  4. Go through the steps systematically.
  5. Most of us in Uganda might be used to application processes where you download in advance the application forms and any other required forms to be filled in, but what I found out with the Apply Texas procedure is that, one can upload academic documents only after completing and submitting the application form, and so on.
  6. Ask questions! https://applicant.tamu.edu/Request/ApplicantRequest/MyQuestions Questions are typically resolved within two days (usually less). The admission process involves many applicants, so continuously asking for feedback ensures that the individuals processing application are able to track your progress. **Please note that the hyperlink above will only be accessible after you have begun the application process and created a NetID.
  7. Upload all documents using this web address: https://applicant.tamu.edu/Upload/UploadedDocument/UploadedDocuments). For instance, I didn’t have to wait for official GRE scores to be sent to Texas A&M University. I sent the unofficial ones in advance.

FAQs

How will the program be publicized?

Texas A&M will depend upon its colleagues at Makerere University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, and Kyambogo University to help identify strong applicants. We also hope that the EMOS office will send the relevant information to various Ugandan government agencies, particularly those with participants in the annual stakeholders’ workshops/planning meetings. The TAMU team also has been collecting business cards of Ugandans interested in the program.
